The delegates for the International Council for Evangelization were formally welcomed by San Pedro Bautista Province-Philippines through the Secretary of the Evangelization, Cielito Almazan, in a simple lunch at Santuario de San Antonio Parish, Makati City on the 20th of October 2008. At exactly 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon, the delegates and the staff were transported to La Verna House of Prayer in Tagaytay City, the location of the weeklong assembly.

The informal orientation which was facilitated by Nestor Inacio Schwerz, Secretary General for Evangelization at 8:30 in the evening accomplished the following: a) Formal presentation of the individual delegates, staff and translators; b) House rules from Sr. Gertrude of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Hearts; c) Presentation and approval of the proposed schedule and; d) Reminders from Emilio Escayola, friar-in-charge of the liturgy.

The assembly welcomed the arrival of Marcel Tshikez from Congo, Zambia, Andrew Litigio and Lito Salazar both delegates from the Philippine Province. 

The presentors were reminded to submit soft copies of their report for multi-media presentation. Andrew Litgio was requested to assist Gladys with this task.

The election of three facilitators who will assist in smooth flow of the session will be done the following day.

As of this time, there are already 24 official delegates present out of  30 delegates expected.

For the closing prayer, the Magnificat of the Blessed Virgin Mary was recited in different languages.
